Week One: October 7th – 13th
Monday the 7th
Trujillo House has officially fallen under Moe’s subsidy. It will be closed while it’s being rebuilt.
Week Two: October 14th – 20th
Thursday the 17th
On the eve of Thursday the 17th, Coyote, Jeff, and Abel all went missing. They returned at sunset coated in reddish dust (save for big, irregular marks in the dust where they wiped their eyes, noses, and mouths), which is not native to anywhere near Bakersfield, and smears of dried blood (that wasn’t theirs), wearing naught but headbands formed of their shirts and deerskin loincloths. Jeff and Abel both bore massive, bloody blisters on their feet. They all also reeked of weed and peyote. Jeff claims it was his best birthday ever. When questioned about it, Jeff is unable to give particulars, only saying, “Nah, man, you won’t get it. You had to BE there.” Coyote, on the other hand, won’t speak—he merely hums little tunes and laughs when spoken to.
Sunday the 20th
Slowly but surely MaMa’s Boys are defecting to join either the Pack or Templar territory (moreso the former than the latter). There’s no word on this from MaMa—but she seems to be letting them go without a fuss.
Week Three: October 21st – 27th
Tuesday the 22nd
Ulcer has managed to establish a cult. Those who follow his teachings have begun paying tribute to Sofia, Sasha, Carmen, and Summer; asking for their blessings, or, in Sofia’s and Sasha’s case, asking to touch their right arms. Sofia appeased them by telling them stories of her father when she was younger, which they listened to aptly. Sasha managed to talk them into helping rebuild Bakersfield. Likewise, those that sought Carmen’s blessing found themselves spending a day harvesting crops from the lush fields that Alvaro tended.
Wednseday the 23rd
By Ken and Sanura’s impetus, a clothing drive was held for the displaced citizens of Bakersfield. While it was very successful, they were unable to accommodate everyone. Still, many more citizens of Bakersfield are freshly clothed.
Thursday the 24th
Summer smiled for the first time! D’awwww!
Friday the 25th
Brendan’s birthday celebration was indeed a quiet affair, wherein gifts were exchanged and a nice meal was had. Also cake. And Senbast played Chopin’s Raindrops, passably.
Week Four: October 28th – November 3rd
Monday the 28th
Due to Captain Maria Jimenez’s hard work, the Bakersfield Militia has been given an official training grounds and uniform. It’s steadily gaining membership.
Friday the 1st
Those who chose to attend All Saints’ Day in Regency Hall were lavished with all manner of food. Before the feast, each of the Templars took turns reciting their patrons’ stories, after which all the other saints were given honors as well.
Sunday the 3rd
Ulcer’s following have started seeking Alvaro out for his blessings. He talked them into serving food at the Regency Hall cafeteria.
Week Five: November 4th – 10th
Saturday the 9th
When Ruben’s party began, he was nowhere to be found. After some searching, Ruben whistled to catch everyone’s attention—he was atop one the bunker roof, astride Hector (who is now the size of a large pony). He gave poor Lisa a heart attack by having Hector dive off the roof (at his father’s suggestion, some suspect)… but, as it turned out, Hector could fly. The rest of the party went on without incident.
Week Six: November 11th – 17th
Wednesday the 13th
There’s dissension within MaMa’s ranks! One of MaMa’s Favorites, Kay Wood, stabbed an unsuspecting MaMa in the kidney at dinnertime. Story goes she immediately ripped the knife out and gutted him, leaving him to die a slow, agonizing death. Last word puts her in critical condition at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.
Friday the 15th
Though the owner was at the ribbon cutting ceremony and gave a speech, Candace, being well-known enough to be the friendly face of Starbucks, was put in charge of the ribbon-cutting itself. After cutting the ribbon and before getting to work, she offered thanks to Sasha in the form of a huge smooch. The line was out the door and around the block all day.
Sunday the 17th
Rumor has it MaMa has recovered and is headed back to her Shoe… but whether that’s actually the truth is hard to determine just by hearsay alone.
Week Seven: November 18th – 24th
Monday the 18th
The Bakersfieldians flooded the streets to watch the sidewalks be illuminated by electricity for the first time in over ten years. Much revelry was had… as was much opportunistic looting, since few souls were in their homes throughout the nights. Strangely, though, the areas around the Survivors or Templars weren’t touched.
Thursday the 21st
Four more former Stampede lieutenants are in the hospital with debilitating, gruesome diseases, all of which seem to have festered from knife wounds. They are under strict quarantine, by urging of the Angel of Union Avenue.
Week Eight: November 25th – December 1st
Wednesday the 27th
Sofia has decided to defer her birthday celebration to Thanksgiving. However, Alvaro showed up and took Sofia on a surprise dinner date! … Which apparently also turned into a breakfast date.
Thursday the 28th
Moe casually set herself up to be around when Sofia returned. The conversation went something like this…
Moe: “Oh, is it morning already?” *looks at Sofia, then rolls her eyes, scoffs, and mutters in exasperation* “By Caer Ibormeith’s fair hair. I cannot believe you two.”
Sofia: *beginning to grow pink* “You are not allowed to talk to my boyfriend without supervision ever again.”
Moe: “Why? Clearly my meddling matters little. You both seem to have missed the point. The silk was just the gift wrap.”
Sofia: *blushes furiously* “MOE.”
Moe: *blinks and smiles innocently* “Yes?”
Sofia: “You—I—He—Don’t —”
Moe: “Wow, okay. Breathe, dear.”
Sofia: *covers her eyes with her hand* “Line… crossed. A lot.”
Moe: “… Okay.” *squeezes Sofia’s shoulders* “I promise, I won’t talk to your boyfriend anymore without supervision.”
Moe: “So…” *sly smile* “… how’d he do?”
Sofia: “… G’bye forever.” *heads off to her room*
Moe: *calls after her* “Love you, Sofieeeee!”
Saturday the 31st
Aida’s birthday went by quietly and with little recognition, just as she wanted (save a twilit breakfast with Brendan during the wee hours of December 1st).
Week Nine: December 2nd – December 8th
Tuesday the 3rd
The Pack’s territory has reached Highway 184. MaMa’s turf is slowly dwindling.
Week Ten: December 9th – December 15th
This week is quiet, filled mostly with packing to get ready for the trips to the Underworlds.
